Happy Weekend!

I spent quite a good Friday, Saturday, & Sunday with family and friends. :)

Friday night was Amici Night with the Front row girls & the Cool geeks. It was such a fun fun night as I haven't seen a lot of these folks for a long time. Highlight of the night was Arthur's total transformation.. Such a hottie already! Haha. I posted some photos in my multiply.. Check it out!!

The girls!!
(Mama Kat, Aspe, Mazie, Angel, Lu-Ann, Jenny, & Daene)

Special Shoutout to His Royal Highness, Arthur! Ang payat mo na!! Miss you!!

On Saturday I spent the whole day at my Tito's house in Paranaque. Paranaque is like another world for me. It reminded me of my childhood days when we used to live in Lopez Village. The south is so much fun now, with all these establishments sprouting like mushrooms all over. I had a lot of fun playing with my nephews and nieces... They're so adorable!!! I was in a lot of panic when my nephew started getting near the electric fan, his hand might get caught in the fan! Waahh.. I am so not ready to be a mom. hahaha. :-)

Saturday night was movie night and Metrowalk night. I had a great time watching National Treasure 2! Although I wasn't really so much into the sequel as compared to the first movie, it was still a lot of fun watching the clues unravel one by one for another time. I was shouting a lot in the first half of the movie. Haha:) We had some drinks (and food more importantly) in Metrowalk afterwards, but I think all of us were quite sleepy that time so there wasn't much talking. haha.... But it was all cool. Good night pa rin shempre :)

Sunday was WAWA day! I treated my family & wawa to movies (Dad at Alien vs. Predator, the rest of us at P.S. I Love You) and late lunch at Cibo. :) Mom and wawa were crying during the movie... It wasn't actually quite bad as I expected it to be. It's about letting go and moving on with life after you "lose" somebody. I super love my wawa to death! I'm really looking forward to our Intramuros tour!!! :-)

After movies in Powerplant, I spent the whole late afternoon & evening watching Heroes season 1. Haha. Milo is so cute. But he was still a lot cuter in Gilmore Girls. Haha. :-) I also watched Sydney White. There's a really cute and cheesy scene in the movie where the "prince" sings for Sydney in the library... Kilig naman ang lola niyo. haha. :-)

I'm really hoping for a good week to come, although I'm quite scared that it won't be a good one at work... Praying really hard that the week would start off really well!!

Have a good week everyone! :)

Silence.

I'm not really a big fan of silence. Heck, I don't even like being silent! I normally find it weird when I don't get to stir up a conversation during study sessions or "chill coffee nights" back in college. But for some reason, I just want to shut up tonight, not watch TV, contemplate, and think..... Think of the things that had been, that are, and the things that will be.

I think I'll be appreciating silence more often now. :)

Who is Betty Go-Belmonte?

Kai and I rode the LRT 2 last weekend and passed by the Betty Go-Belmonte station... I asked Kai how odd the name of the station was, then she told me she knew who BGB was because of me... And I was like, "What?! I shared to you who she was?" Apparently, I sent an email about BGB to our chorale yahoogroups about 2 years ago and I obviously didn't remember it, so I searched for that message in my gmail. When I read it, it sounded really funny and informative, so I decided to share it with you guys. =)

Hahaha. I suddenly got curious when i saw Chin's (aka Betty Go-Belmonte) So I decided to search about her in Yahoo and find out WHY a station is named after her.. Here's what i found. hehe
- http://qrs-complex.blogspot.com/2005/07/betty-go-belmonte-station.html <-- this site has an entry about BGB, cute nga entry niya eh.. hehehe:)

- BGB is actually the founding chairman of Philippine Star. O ha? Hindi lang siya station, chairman pa siya! Woo! (http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=14356 )

- http://drmkng.blogspot.com/2005/10/roads-less-traveled.html <--- another blog that talked about BGB. cute... we can surely relate :D

- She has also been the editor of the PHILIPPINES YEARBOOK. (http://www.newsflash.org/2002/11/hl/hl016995.htm)

- She is also the FIRST FILIPINA Newspaper Publisher of a National Daily... Talk about GIRL POWER!! ( http://philamlink.com/PhilAMlink/filipina_firsts3.htm)

- BETTY-GO BELMONTEUmm... It was named after the wife of Mayor Belmonte? What else can I say? It's a dead station (http://www.livejournal.com/users/bitchgod/ ) ... So hindi tayo nag-iisa. We are not the only ones wondering WHO BGB is. :) This site also has nice insights of the stations. hehe :)

- "Betty Go-Belmonte. Although most of this area is residential, you could while an afternoon away sampling the delicacies at Green Eggs and Blue Bacon and viewing the exhibits at Boston Gallery." ( http://homepage.mac.com/gabemercado/blogwavestudio/) <-- I've actually heard of Green Eggs and Blue Bacon and they say that it's a good cafe.. :) hehehe.

- Betty Go was married to Sonny Belmonte, (former or current) mayor of Quezon City.As quoted: "He was married to the late Betty Go Belmonte, a devout and virtuous wife, mother, friend, businesswoman and a model Christian." ( http://beta.inq7.net/viewpoints/index.php?index=2&story_id=46174&col=69)

Well, that's all i found, although they are a lot na. hehe. Some trivia from a bored lady!!!
Puede ko pala maging idol si BGB. Astig siya. :)

Haha. Fond, funny chorale memories =)

Good vibes, Good week

I woke up this morning with a big smile on my face. :D

I don't know if it was due to the closet make-over I'm currently working on (I have already color coordinated the arrangement of my skirts and tops haha), or the excessive impusive shopping tendencies I had over the whole week (or baka sinapian na ako ng multo? haha joke!), but I'm definitely feeling a lot of good vibes to come this week.

When I got to work, I continued spreading the joy, even if I was 2minutes late! My officemate wondered why I had a big big smile on my face when I got to work. I told her, "Actually, hindi ko rin alam kung bakit. Masaya lang talaga ako!". On YM Radio, I was listening to Pop Valentine station, where the likes of BSB, Britney, & Beyonce were played. It continued to perk me up a little more as they reminded me of the fun, fun Pop culture back in high school. haha. :-)
I also looked for the schedules of the Intramuros tour so that I could already plan to go with Lola. I'm excited! I'm happy! :-)

Tomorrow though, dad's coming back from Cebu, so it means a 50% shift of the new 2008 lifestyle. On the other hand, I'm still happy to have my dad back home because I miss him too, but at the same time, I'll miss being "more" independent without his presence. Well at least, I'll have an instant Sunday movie buddy again! Now, I don't have any reason to miss my favorite movies... Too bad, I still don't have a movie buddy for National Treasure 2.:-)

Definitely hoping and spreading the good vibes for this week! Have a happy happy week friends! :-)

Coffee Rush

It's 1:30 AM and I'm still up. I just had coffee about 2 hours ago, and the effect is still very strong.... I kind of need the coffee rush as I am finishing my PPEI for tomorrow... Can't wait to have this done and over with, neither can't I wait for the week to finally end tomorrow!

Well, this week has been a pretty tough one.I had a lot of things in mind during this week.... But I think I'm okay. I'm going to be okay!!! :)

This week I met up with a lot of my friends. Been talking to them as well, and I'm glad that they spare a bit of their time for my rants and emo moments. Thank God for friends whom you can call or message anytime, anywhere of the day especially in times of need. I couldn't be any luckier.:)

I have nothing definite planned for tomorrow evening, but I'm hoping to watch a movie with a fellow Bisaya friend tomorrow night. It's either we watch a movie or we drink the night a way. Whatever makes us happy. Now I'm thinking of other people to invite tomorrow.... Haha.

I'm going to visit Itoy's grandaunt this Saturday to pay my respects. I'm quite sad with the incident, and I hope things will be better soon. Plus I'm getting a haircut on the afternoon. My soon-to-be new hair excites me.

Next week is another week to tackle.... Let's continue to hope for better things!

Til my next entry. Girl Power! (effect of Spice Girls. haha)

PPEI at Work

We're going to have this sort-of PPEI at work weekly, so that's 1 presentation for me every month as there are 4 presentors all-in-all. I'm going to be the first presentor, and I had to submit my topic today, along with the assignments of my colleagues who will serve as my panel.

I had a dilemma on which topic to talk about. I was either contemplating on the Spice Girls or Primetime TV: Kapuso vs. Kapamilya. I ended up choosing the former... Sobrang jologs ko na ata if I talk about Lastikman or Marimar. I assigned 1 colleague to be the Spice Girls enthusiast, while the other two would be the ANTI- Spice Girls/90's music.

The presentation is on Friday morning. I'm excited/scared! Brings me back to our Business Comm days. Hahaha!!!! Kakaaliw talaga.

Wish me luck! Now, I'm going to immerse myself into the Spice World & Girl Power once again. WOOHOO!

New Year, New Life, New Beginning

A few things I have in mind for 2008:

1. Fix my room- I always start fixing my room but it's a neverending cycle
2. Fix my expenses- Take note of daily expenses (I aim to start this Feb!), make a budget, and probably open a new account
3. Learn how to cook and spend more time in the kitchen
4. Have piano lessons once again
5. Explore Old Manila & take Carlos Celdran's Intramuros tour (This I have to do with Wawa:D)
6. Pay for more bills at home
7. Read more current events
8. Get more background on economics, statistics, accounting, & finance (so not me)
9. Try out a new sport (boxing or badminton would do).. Or maybe go to the gym and exercise!
10. Walk more
11. Commute more
12. Take Kumon classes (if the company will shoulder it hehe)
13. Go on a vacation with friends
14. Hang out more with friends
15. Be more simple (less frills, more basics)
16. Write more often to release emotions
17. Be more spontaneous
18. Be more pro-active
19. Read more books (as if)
20. Give back more to society & the less privileged (I know, cliche!)
21. Be a better daughter and sister.

I honestly doubt if I can do all of this. Then I guess I'm no. 3- The one with the will but does not end up doing things.

4 Kinds of People

I feel like writing again. It's been a while since I had the urge to. I guess these mixed emotions give me every reason why I should write, right? Or maybe there is just something about this day. Oh well. I hope I will always have these "I feel like writing in my blog" moments more often.

I learned a lot today. My boss talked to us earlier about Forex, Statistics (God, I'm so clueless with all these foreign terms.. He even asked us the diff. between variance & standard deviation... Nosebleed!), & preparing Presentations for clients (this I think I may do better. :D). He shared something which was pretty simple but true. He said that there are only 4 kinds of people in the world. These are:

1. The ones who have the will to do it and do it
2. The ones who have the will to do it but end up not doing it
3. The ones who do not have the will to do it yet do it
4. The ones who do not have the will to do it and end up not doing it

And he asked us, who are you among these 4 people? It made me think of my decisions & actions lately. I hope I'm more of no. 1, but being no. 3 is also quite interesting, if you don't prioritize your happiness over your needs.

Now, who are you among these 4 kinds of people?
